Falmouth, the view from the Raw Bar |
Rainbow Pedi |
Wait, it's not over yet. There's still one more crack at summer with a girl's road trip because I have the excuse of picking Peter up off of Martha's Vineyard. And one last rainbow pedicure So I got to grab one of my dearest friends and drive with her up to Falmouth to see another one of my/our dearest friends.

Jane |
Susan and Jane and I have been friends for more than 25 years. We have been through everything together, significant birthday celebrations, divorces, births, deaths, baptisms and breakups and forays into lives we could have never imagined when we met. Susan has a summer house in Cape Cod, Jane lives in Virginia, which for me might as well be in Texas. So we've seen each other less over the years, but when we get back together it is seamless.
At this point there are stockpiles of memories that between the three of us can be built up to bear some resemblance to the truth.
The ride up here took 11.5 hours. Yes. Jane and I had time to catch up on the last decade. But once here at the heavenly hostess house, we were so happy. So pampered. Susan's guest rooms are like hotel rooms, right down to the white bathrobe in the closet.
Today, we slept in and then went to work out together at Susan's health club. Yes, this is something you choose to do on vacations in 2013; then we scored our Starbucks; went to the Raw Bar for a lobster roll; and then strolled around in downtown Falmouth to see and be seen.

There is a neighboring rooster who has been crowing Cock a Doodle Doo all day. That thing about their only doing it at dawn is an urban myth. How would urbanites know anyway?
Tomorrow, retrieval of my son the a Capella singer who just sent us to a link to a new TV ad for a Mini Golf place that featured the Vineyard Sound. Check it out Island Cove Adventures
